Good morning and Happy New Year! As you’re getting up conditions outside are cloudy with temperatures in the upper single digits to low teens. Winds are out of the north/ northeast at 5-15 mph which will put wind chill values in the lower single digits. Dress very warmly if you have to leave the house and be mindful of icy roadways.ABILENE, Texas -


Monday afternoon will see cloudy conditions with highs still below freezing in the low/ mid-20s and have north/ northeast winds at 5-15 mph. Roadways are still expected to be icy, so if you don’t have to drive, don’t. Monday night will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy and lows will drop back to the low/ mid-teens.


On Tuesday we will have another weak front arrive. This will keep skies mostly cloudy with highs in the mid/ upper 20s and winds will remain out of the east/ northeast at 5-10 mph. This means we are still expecting roadway conditions to remain hazardous. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with lows in the mid-teens to low 20s.


Wednesday and Thursday look like they will see highs finally warm above freezing to the low/ mid-40s with partly cloudy conditions that clear slightly through the day. Winds will drop to the southeast at 5-10 mph through the afternoon both days. Lows through this period will be in the mid/ upper 20s with partly cloudy skies.


Friday will continue to warm as highs make it to the upper 40s/ low 50s with mostly sunny skies and winds will be out of the south at 5-10 mph. Friday night will cool to the low 30s with mostly clear conditions.


Currently, into the weekend for Saturday and Sunday, highs look like they will warm to the mid/ upper 50s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Lows through this time will be above freezing in the mid-30s with partly cloudy skies.
