KTXS Forecast: Potentially icy commute for some locations across the region.

Good morning! As you’re getting up conditions outside will be cloudy with freezing temperatures in the upper teens to upper 20s with northeast winds at 5-15 mph. Due to overnight freezing drizzle there is the possibility of icing on some roadways and once again fog is possible during the morning commute. Wednesday afternoon will keep highs well below normal in the low/ mid-30s with cloudy skies. Winds will keep out of the northeast at 5-15 mph and light drizzle is possible through most of the day. Wednesday night we will begin to clear slightly and see lows back below freezing in the mid/ upper 20s.


By Thursday afternoon the region will begin to clear slightly and highs will warm to the upper 40s to mid-50s with partly cloudy conditions. Thursday night lows will be around freezing in the low 30s with mostly clear skies and have southeast winds at 5-10 mph.


For Friday and Saturday it looks like most of the Big Country will be mostly sunny with highs around normal in the mid-50s and have south winds at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the mid/ upper 30s.


On Sunday, our next strong cold front will move through the region. Highs will range from the upper 30s to mid-40s with partly cloudy skies and winds will switch to the north at 5-15 mph. There will be a 10 percent chance of isolated showers through the day. By Sunday night lows will drop to the upper teens/ low 20s with partly cloudy conditions.


Currently, for Monday and Tuesday, it looks like highs will remain in the mid-30s with partly cloudy skies and have north/ northeast winds at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be in the mid-teens to low 20s.
