KTXS Forecast: Slowly warming out of freezing highs through the week.

Good morning! As you’re getting up conditions outside will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with temperatures still below freezing in the upper single digits to the upper teen. Winds are out of the east/ northeast at 5-10 mph which puts our wind chill values in the lower single digits and low teens. You will need to dress very warmly when you head out and be mindful of any lingering ice on roadways.ABILENE, Texas -


Tuesday afternoon highs are going to remain below freezing as well, making it to the low 30s with clearing skies through the day and winds will be out of the northeast/ east at 5-10 mph. By Tuesday night lows will drop back to the upper teens/ low 20s with mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions.


However, by Wednesday afternoon we are finally going to warm to above freezing temperatures! Highs are going to make it to the low/ mid-40s with mostly sunny skies and winds will be out of the north, then switch to the south at 5-10 mph. Wednesday night is going to be mostly clear to partly cloudy and in the low/ mid-20s.


Thursday afternoon will continue to see warming highs as we make it the mid/ upper 40s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions and winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. Thursday night we will be mostly clear and in the mid/ upper 20s.


Friday and Saturday currently look like they are going to be around average for this time of year in the low/ mid-50s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and have south winds at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be in the low/ mid-30s with partly cloudy conditions.


Sunday afternoon is going to warm to the upper 50s/ low 60s with building cloud cover and winds will be out of the west at 5-15 mph. Sunday night we will cool to the upper 30s/ low 40s with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies.


Currently, on Monday, it looks like a cold front will move in early in the morning. This will cause highs into the afternoon to be in the mid-50s to low 60s, winds will turn to the northwest at 5-15 mph and skies will be partly cloudy. Monday night lows will be back in the mid-30s with clearing conditions.
