12-year-old boy on bicycle hits car in north Abilene

A 12-year-old Abilene boy is OK after hitting a car while riding his bicycle on Tuesday morning.

The boy was riding his bicycle on North 18th Street, near the old Fannin Elementary School, when the collision occurred at around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, the boy was alert and conscious.

Paramedics asked the boy a few questions and checked his vital signs while he sat on a curb.

The front wheel of his bicycle will need to be replaced.

His mother contacted KTXS to let us know he was taken to the hospital. She said he suffered a skull fracture and a concussion.
