Abilene police are investigating multiple convenience store robberies that happened late Thursday night.

Police are still looking for the suspects.

At least four stores have been robbed -- Stripes on Hwy 277, 7-Eleven at Danville and Southwest Drive, Allsup's at 241 S. 1st Street and the 7-Eleven at 3401 Ambler Blvd.

A witness told KTXS that a black male wearing a mask came into the Stripes armed with a gun around 11 p.m.

The other robberies happened within about an hour of that.

Police initially set up a perimeter in the area of Wisteria Way and Southwest Drive. Officers were searching homes in the neighborhood looking for the suspects.

Police have not said whether the suspects are connected to a pair of convenience store robberies over the weekend.
