2 men arrested for burglarizing home in south Abilene
ABILENE, Texas —
The Abilene Police Department, along with the Tye Police Department, arrested two men on Wednesday for breaking into a home in south Abilene and stealing several items from there, including a pair of handguns.
Jesus Perry, 44, of Merkel, and Joe Castillo, 31, of Tye, are being charged with burglary of a habitation.
According to authorities, both Perry and Castillo broke into a south Abilene home on Monday and reportedly stole two handguns, jewelry and other items from there.
The victim reported that someone broke out a window in the back of the home.
The Abilene Police Department and the Tye Police Department found the suspects at a hotel near the 5600 block of South 1st Street in Abilene on Wednesday.
Authorities seized several stolen items from the suspects, which reportedly led them to another property in Tye, where additional burglarized goods were seized.
Both suspects are being held at the Taylor County Jail.
Castillo’s bond is set at $20,000, while Perry’s bonds are set at more than $50,000 because of previous charges.
