Abilene artist presents portrait to Officer Rodney Holder's family
ABILENE, Texas —
The family of an Abilene police officer killed in the line of duty got a special gift Tuesday afternoon.
Local artist Kina Tiemann presented a portrait of officer Rodney Holder to his wife and son at Mike Lanier Studio 13, an art studio in north Abilene.
Chief Stan Standridge and several officers and firefighters were also on hand for the unveiling.
“I know that if my dad were still here today, first off, he would feel like he didn't deserve all this praise, but he would still be overjoyed at all the support the community has given him over these years,” said Kyler Holder, Rodney Holder’s son.
Officer Holder lost his life during a traffic stop while on duty eight years ago.
