Abilene man indicted for having sex with a teenage girl
ABILENE, Texas —
A convicted sex offender was indicted by a Taylor County grand jury on Thursday for having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
According to the indictment, Jacob James Kelly, 24, of Abilene, met the victim online in 2014.
Kelly would drive out to Albany, pick the girl up and bring her back to his house in Abilene, where they would have sex.
This happened “several times" and authorities said that Kelly “gave a full confession.”
Kelly was arrested back in March for possession of child pornography and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Kelly's roommate, Wesley Adam James, 32, of Abilene, was arrested for distribution of child pornography.
Authorities executed a search warrant at Kelly and James’ house in the 2000 block of Delwood Drive, where they found “numerous devices containing child pornography.”
Kelly remains at the Taylor County Jail on bonds totaling $195,000.
