ABILENE, Texas — Abilene Mayor Anthony Williams has asked city departments lower flags to half-staff in honor of the border patrol agent killed over the weekend.
Donna Doss, 49, was assisting the Texas Department of Public Safety and Tye police on Saturday night when she was hit by a car on the I-20 service road just west of Tye.
"Mayor Williams, Abilene City Council, and City of Abilene staff sends its deepest condolences to the family of Agent Doss, and gratitude for her service to our country," the city said in a news release.
Flags will remain lowered across the city through Friday.
