Big Country fire departments pay respect to fallen firefighter

(Abilene Fire Department)

Fire departments from across the Big Country paid their respects to a fallen firefighter on Monday afternoon.

The departments lined Interstate 20 as the escort carrying Richard “Andy” Loller, Jr.'s body from Odessa to the medical examiner's officer in Fort Worth passed by them.

Loller was helping fight a wildfire in the Davis Mountains when he suffered an unspecified medical condition.

The Abilene Fire Department had four fire engines and other emergency vehicles lined up along I-20 between Hayter Road and the overpass of West Lake Road.

The Cisco Fire Department stood in salute on a bridge over I-20.

Members of the Baird Volunteer Fire Department watched from the side of I-20.
