ABILENE, Texas — Abilene police say a burglar broke into a north side home through a doggie door.
According to the arrest and incident reports, police responded to a burglary call in the 300 block of E. Ambler Ave. just before 8 p.m. Thursday.
The 59-year-old woman who lives there called police to tell them a man was breaking into her home. She described the shoes he was wearing. She saw them as he was crawling through the doggie door.
When police arrived, Daniel Richard Yanez, 31, was standing in the kitchen. He was wearing the same colored shoes the victim described.
Yanez told police he was looking for food and water.
He was charged with burglary and booked on a $20,000 bond.
