Falling Russian space junk was spotted in the skies across West Texas.

The American Meteor Society received at least 70 reports of a fireball in the sky Friday night, including six reports from the Big Country and four in the Concho Valley.

What looked like a meteor streaking across the sky was actually the remnants of a Russian rocket.

According to Dr Marco Langbroek, a Dutch archaeologist and amateur astronomer, what people saw was the reentry of a Soyuz rocket stage from the launch of a Russian military satellite in November.
