KTXS Forecast: Morning cold front delivering cooler highs and thundershowers

Good morning! As you’re getting up a cold front is pushing through the Big County. Skies will be mostly cloudy with temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to the mid-70s and winds will be from the southeast to the northeast at 10-20 mph. Scattered thundershowers are expected across the Big Country during the morning commute. Take an umbrella and jacket when you leave the house this morning.

Thursday afternoon we will see temperatures for all below average in the mid-80s to low 90s with partly cloudy/ mostly cloudy skies and winds will be from the east/ northeast at 5-10 mph. Through the day scattered thundershowers are expected on and off across the region and will hover around 50-60 percent. Overnight lows are going to be cooler and in the upper 60s/ low 70s with continued cloud cover and rain chances.

Friday through Monday will remain unchanged as far as weather conditions go. Highs will trend well below average in the mid/ upper 80s with mostly cloudy skies. Winds through this period will be from the north/ northeast at 5-10 mph and thundershower chances will linger around 50-60 percent with a low severe weather threat. Overnight lows through this period are expected to be in the mid-60s/ low 70s with continued cloud cover and rain chances.

Currently, for Tuesday and Wednesday, it looks like skies across the region will finally begin to clear slightly and rain chances will begin to move out. Afternoon highs both days will hover in the upper 80s/ low 90s with south winds at 5-10 mph and rain chances linger around 10-20 percent. Lows overnight through this period will be in the upper 60s/ low 70s with partly cloudy skies.

Note: Over the next 5-6 days the Big Country is expecting to pick up possibly 3-4 inches of rain with locally higher amount possible. This will make flooding a possibility for some location. Be mindful on the roadways, especially into the end of the weekend and into next week.
