KTXS Forecast: Scattered rain chances to linger through the week
ABILENE, Texas —
Good morning! As you’re getting up conditions outside are mostly clear with temperatures in the upper 60s to mid-70s and winds are out of the east/ southeast at 5-15 mph. There will be isolated shower chances through the morning commute across the region.
For Monday afternoon highs will be around normal in the low 90s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Winds are going to remain out of the southeast at 5-15 mph and there will be a 20-30 percent chance of isolated showers through the day. Best rain chances will be for westernmost counties and then southeastern areas with a low severe weather threat. Monday night we are going to be partly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s to mid-70s and have continued rain chances.
Currently, for Tuesday through Thursday, tropical moisture will continue moving into the state. This will make skies partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with highs that will hover in the upper 80s/ low 90s. Winds through this time will be out of the southeast at 5-15 mph and there will be a 20-40 percent chance of scattered thundershowers for the region. The possibility of severe weather remains low and best rain chances will be for southeastern areas. Lows through this time are expected to be in the upper 60s to low 70s with continued cloud cover and rain chances.
Friday afternoon, the rain chances will begin to move out and skies will begin to clear. Highs across the Big Country will be in the low 90s with winds from the south at 5-15 mph. By Friday night most of the region will dry out, have mostly clear conditions and have lows in the upper 60s/ low 70s.
Into the weekend, for Saturday and Sunday, it currently looks like both days will be mostly sunny with highs back above normal in the mid-90s and winds will be mainly out of the south at 10-20 mph. Overnight lows during this time are expected to be in the lower 70s with mostly clear conditions.
