Abilene, TexasShotgunABILENE, Texas — A man accidentally shot himself with a 20-gauge shotgun at a north Abilene auto repair shop on Tuesday afternoon.
At about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, emergency crews were called to the Northside Service auto repair shop at 3501 North 6th Street in north Abilene to a report of a man with a gunshot wound.
According to authorities, a 32-year-old male employee at the Northside Service auto repair shop accidentally shot himself while trying to handle a 20-gauge shotgun.
Authorities also said that foul play is not suspected in the incident.
The employee was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
According to eyewitnesses, the employee was sitting up on a stretcher and his injuries did not appear to be severe.
Another man was taken into custody by authorities at the scene of the incident on an outstanding warrant unrelated to the accidental shooting.
