Motorcycle collides with car in south Abilene, multiple injuries

    A motorcycle collided with a car in south Abilene Friday.

    The accident occurred around 3 p.m. on Southwest Drive, between S. Clack Street and Catclaw Drive.

    Police say the motorcyclist was following too closely.

    When the car slowed down to turn, the motorcycle rear ended the car.

    Two people were on the motorcycle when the accident occurred, and neither of them were wearing a helmet.

    The female, 36, and the male, 47, were both taken to Hendrick Medical Center with serious injuries.

    The man driving the motorcycle was given three citations: failure to control speed, failure to wear a helmet, and driving without a license to operate the motorcycle.

    The driver of the car and the passenger, 8, were taken to Hendrick Medical Center with minor injuries.
