'Mr. Chicken's gonna die,' Video of chicken set on fire by 3 teens in Abilene resurfaces

Video of the chicken Abilene police say was set on fire by three teenagers has resurfaced on social media.

The attached image is a screen grab from the video.

The video was posted Jan. 28 by someone who created a Twitter account just to notify Abilene police.

Police say they were first notified Jan. 22 that a 16-year-old boy and two 17-year-old boys doused the chicken with a flammable liquid, set it on fire and watched it burn to death.

In the video, one of the teens shouts, "Mr. Chicken's gonna die!"

He then repeatedly screams, "Oh my God!" followed by laughter.

A second voice is heard asking, "Why did we do that? That was awful!"

Paul Washburn with Rescue The Animals/SPCA said "it's one of the most disturbing things I've seen since I've lived in Abilene."

Washburn said statistics show most people who torture and kill animals eventually do it to humans.

Police said the three teens could be charged with Cruelty to Animal Livestock.
