The high school football player who was carted off the field at Shotwell Stadium is out of the hospital.

Reggie Jackson, a defensive end for Wichita Falls Hirschi, was released from Hendrick Medical Center last night.

Jackson laid motionless on the field Saturday after a tackle late in the first half against San Angelo Lake View.

On Sunday, a teammate and friend of Jackson’s, Jaron Jordan, provided an update on his condition.

“Reggie Jackson is ok. Just had a lil numbness and tingling in his left arm. He’s on his way home,” Jordan stated.

Jordan told San Angelo LIVE! that the injury was “just a little stinger causing a little numbness and tingling in his left arm."

Jackson will get an additional X-ray to make sure his recovery is going well, according to Jordan.

Hirschi defeated San Angelo Lake View 55-23 in the Class 4-A Division 1 Area Round of the UIL Texas High School Playoffs.

The Huskies advanced to the Regional Round against Decatur on Friday in Graham.
