Abilene woman charged with murder in death of roommate
ABILENE, Texas —
An Abilene woman has been charged with murder in the death of her roommate.
Police say Lonisha Nicole McBride, 31, walked into the police station around 10 a.m. Thursday and confessed to shooting her roommate at the Little Elm Apartment complex, located near the intersection of S. 7th Street and Ruidosa Avenue.
The Criminal Investigation Division found the body of Shaniqua Shenell Wallace, 43, inside the apartment.
Police have not said if there is a motive for the homicide or what lead up to the shooting.
McBride is being held at the Taylor County Jail on $100,000 bond.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Taylor County Jail records initially stated McBride was charged with capital murder. Police have since said the charge is murder.
