Suddenlink, Viacom dispute results in 24 networks dropped

ABILENE, Texas - If you are a Suddenlink customer you may have noticed a few channels you're missing.

As of Wednesday, Oct 1, 24 Viacom networks were removed from Suddenlink service. This comes after Suddenlink and Viacom failed to reach a new agreement over pay rates.

"After five months of negotiations, Suddenlink abruptly stopped negotiating with Viacom one week ago," Viacom said in a statement. "Suddenlink took the unprecedented step of rejecting its own proposal and informed Viacom that it will drop our networks tonight when our deal expires."

Suddenlink also released a statement painting a different picture.

"Despite our repeated requests for Viacom to reconsider, Viacom rejected every offer Suddenlink made and then removed its channels."
