Trucks from TxDOT will begin laying down a brine mixture at 7 a.m. on Friday.
Brine is a chemical that helps to keep ice from forming on roadways.
The first places where crews from TxDOT will be laying down the brine mixture will be on I-20 and Highway 277.
Much colder air is forecast to blow in on Sunday night.
Rain is expected in our area on Monday morning, but it could change over to snow on Monday afternoon.
All of the precipitation is expected to move out of our area on Monday night.
However, temperatures may drop into the upper 20s on Tuesday morning.
