Unregistered sex offender tops list of suspects for 'Abilene's Wanted Criminals'

    An Abilene man that has failed to register as a sex offender has been named the featured suspect for this week's edition of "Abilene's Wanted Criminals."

    Jaime Ortiz Cortinez has been designated as the "featured suspect" in the weekly video sent out by the Abilene Police Department.

    Cortinez, 46, is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.

    As the "featured suspect" of the week, a $500 reward is being offered to anyone who can provide details that could lead to the apprehension of Cortinez.

    A reward of $250 will be awarded to anyone with information that leads to the capture of any of the other six wanted suspects featured in this week's video.

    Those suspects include:

    *- Rodrick Dwayne Lyons, 35, of Abilene -- stalking ($250 reward)

    *- Roberto Guzman, Jr., 31, of Abilene -- aggravated assault ($250 reward)

    *- Jonathan William Day, 42, of Clyde -- possession of heroin ($250 reward)

    *- Severo Valadez, Jr., 31, of Abilene -- indecency with a child ($250 reward)

    *- Glen Edward Glass, 31, of Monahans -- failure to register as a sex offender ($250 reward)

    *- Jesus Armando Perry, 45, of Merkel -- failure to register as a sex offender and burglary ($250 reward)

    "Never try to capture any suspect on your own because they could be armed and dangerous,” the Abilene Police Department said in the weekly video announcing the suspects.
