Victim of fatal Scurry County crash identified
HERMLEIGH, Texas —
On Wednesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety identified Pete Castro, 29, of Snyder, as the person who was killed in a crash on Monday night in Scurry County.
Around 11 p.m. on Monday, Castro was riding in a 2014 Ford SUV that was traveling eastbound on County Road 4126 while trying to cross US 84 toward Hermleigh.
DPS said that when the Ford crossed into the northbound lanes, a 2010 Toyota SUV hit the right side of the Ford.
The crash sent the Toyota sliding into a nearby Allsup's fuel station.
The Ford spun around and was hit again by a Peterbilt truck/tractor that was towing a trailer.
Castro was pronounced dead on the scene.
It is unknown how many other occupants were in all of the vehicles and what the medical conditions of the other occupants were like.
The crash remains under investigation.
