Volunteers needed for West Texas Rehab phonathon

ABILENE, Texas — The West Texas Rehabilitation Center is looking for volunteers to help solicit donations in advance of the 49th Annual Rehab Telethon.

Volunteers will call previous donors on Wednesday and Thursday night (Jan 16. and Jan. 17) to ask if they can once again be counted on for a generous donation.

Subway sandwiches will be served to volunteers at 5:30 p.m. at the Abilene Convention Center. A brief training will be held at 6 p.m. before volunteers make calls from 6:30 until 9 p.m.

Prizes will be given away each night.

The annual telethon raises more than one million dollars making it possible for the West Texas Rehabilitation Center to serve more than 650 patients each day regardless of their financial circumstance.
