Clyde city councilwoman dies

    Clyde is mourning the unexpected death of a city councilwoman.

    Anita Chapman died Monday of natural causes at her home.

    She was 69-years-old.

    Chapman was first elected to the city council in May 2016. She was re-elected in November.

    Before retirement, Chapman spent more than 26 years with the City of Abilene Municipal Court.

    She is survived by her daughter, brother, four sisters and four grandchildren.

    Funeral services are pending with Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.
