ABILENE, Texas -- The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday for 17 Big County counties.

These locations include Eastland, Stephens, Comanche, King, Kent, Stonewall, Callahan, Coke, Fisher, Haskell, Sterling, Jones, Nolan, Shackelford, Taylor, Throckmorton and Knox counties.

The current Red Flag Warnings entail that winds will be out of the south/southwest at 20-25 mph with gusts over 30 mph and humidity levels will be below 20 percent. These factors will create critical fire weather danger.

Main concerns include rapidly spreading fires should they develop.

Outdoor burning is discouraged and extra precautions should be taken through the afternoon to not accidentally start any fires.
