Hospital in Coleman receives bomb threat, evacuates patients
COLEMAN, Texas —
Authorities responded to a bomb threat sent to the Coleman County Medical Center Thursday.
According to Fire Chief and Emergency Coordinator for Coleman County, David Martinez, a threat was sent to the hospital by email. The email appears to be similar to the email that has been sent around to multiple areas of the United States.
Authorities, assisted over the phone by the Abilene Bomb Squad, responded to the call around 1 p.m. Law enforcement swept the building but found nothing.
Eleven patients were evacuated from the hospital, along with all of the hospital staff.
KTXS has been informed that the Abilene Bomb Squad has been helping other agencies with threats Thursday as well.
