Seats filled for the opening night of Coleman's 81st annual PRCA Rodeo

Dozens of people showed up on Thursday for the opening night of Coleman's PRCA Rodeo.

This is the rodeo's 81st year, which continues into Friday night and Saturday night, and is one of the few rodeos in Texas that is part of the professional rodeo circuit.

"It's a big activity for our community and it brings a lot of people in," said Mary Griffis, the Executive Director of the Coleman Chamber of Commerce. "And it gives everyone a time to visit and it helps with the economy."

Tickets can be purchased at the gate in front of the rodeo arena in Coleman and will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.

The show begin at 7:15 p.m. with mutton busting and then the rodeo itself starts soon after that at 8 p.m.

There will be a concert held immediately following the rodeo at 9:45 p.m. and tickets will cost $20 per person, with Roger Creager performing on Friday and Koe Wetzel performing on Saturday.
