Arrest made in deadly shooting in Shackelford County

MORAN, Texas — (UPDATE) The Shackelford County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with a possible homicide in Moran.

Royce Duane Donaldson, 49, is charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

Sheriff Ed Miller said Donaldson got into a fight with 51-year-old George Henry Mark II at a home on Ward Street. Around 7 p.m., Miller said Donaldson shot and killed Mark.

An autopsy will be performed on Mark's body Tuesday at the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Shackelford County Sheriff's Office and Texas Rangers are investigating a possible homicide in Moran.

Shackelford County Sheriff Ed Miller said that they were called Monday evening about a shooting on Ward Street.

Miller confirmed that one person is dead and they are investigating it as a possible homicide, but he did not want to release any further details.

At least five members of the Shackelford County Sheriff's Office, along with members of the Texas Rangers, are trying to figure out what happened.
