Volunteer fire department in Brown County warns public of burning
BROOKESMITH, Texas —
The Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Department urged the public on Wednesday to avoid burning this week as the Brown County Commissioners have lifted Brown County's burn ban.
According to their Facebook post, the Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Department stated that most of Brown County has a "bountiful amount of dry grass to fuel fires."
The Brown County Commissioners will have a meeting this upcoming Monday, where they have whether or not to put a burn ban in place for Brown County listed on their agenda.
