Water going over spillway at Lake Abilene

Water started going over the spillway at Lake Abilene late Thursday afternoon.

As of 6 p.m., the lake is 3.5 feet above flood stage.

Water going over the morning glory flooded FM 89 forcing TXDOT to close the road Thursday morning.

Abilene State Park is also closed.

The City of Abilene's Emergency Operations Center is watching to see if Elm Creek or Catclaw Creek flood as all that water heads toward Lake Fort Phantom which is 2.2 feet above flood stage as of 6 p.m.
