Brown County Judge denies property owner access to old bridge near residence

A property owner was denied access by the Brown County Judge on Monday to a bridge that sits on his property.

Two men who currently live near Clear Creek Bridge, which is located in the southern part of Brown County, wanted to use their vehicles to drive across the bridge to reach their homes.

Benny Dodds spoke on behalf of the property owner and he told Brown County Judge Ray West that the bridge is the only way to access the property.

However, West denied access to the bridge, stating that Brown County is preserving the bridge as a historical site.

West also claimed that the locks to a gate guarding the bridge were clipped in the past.
