Brownwood City Council approves changes to traffic around elementary school

On Tuesday, the Brownwood City Council approved the first reading of changes to the traffic surrounding East Elementary School in Brownwood.

The City of Brownwood hopes to add stop signs at several intersections surrounding the school prior to the first day of classes, but the exact locations of where the stop signs will be placed are still being discussed.

Locations for the stop signs will not be finalized until the next Brownwood City Council meeting, when it will come up for second and third readings of the traffic changes.

Last month, the City of Brownwood, the Brownwood Police Department and the Brownwood Independent School District held an informational session at East Elementary School to get feedback on the traffic proposal.
