Brownwood man arrested in drug bust for having 83 grams of meth gets indicted
BROWNWOOD, Texas —
A man was indicted after getting arrested last summer in a Brown County drug bust with 83 grams of methamphetamine.
Terry Blaine Bessent, 34, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone and unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, according to 35th Judicial District Attorney Michael Murray's Office.
Brown County law enforcement arrested 57 suspected drug dealers last August and confiscated a total of 90 grams of meth.
Police found 83 grams of meth in one raid they conducted at Bessent's home on the 900 block of Avenue D, according to the Brownwood Police Department.
The bust was part of a 20-month investigation into drug rings in Brown County, some with "direct ties" to Mexican drug cartels.
