Brownwood PD recognized again for employing state's best business practices
BROWNWOOD, Texas —
The Brownwood Police Department was recognized at Tuesday’s Brownwood City Council meeting for passing an on-site inspection that evaluated its compliance with the best business practices for Texas Law Enforcement, according to a press release.
The Brownwood Police Department received an award officials call the "Re-Recognized Law Enforcement Agency”, which was presented to them by the Texas Police Chiefs Association.
There are over 168 best business practices that a police department is evaluated on before passing, according to a press release from Brownwood Police Chief Terry Nichols.
The Brownwood Police Department was originally recognized by the Texas Police Chief Association Law Enforcement Recognition Program in October of 2013 under former Brownwood Police Chief Mike Corley.
Nichols said that the Brownwood Police Department was notified on April 26 of their award.
The press release stated that this is the second time that the City of Brownwood has passed such an inspection.
The Brownwood Police Department will also be recognized in April of 2019 at the Texas Police Chiefs Association's annual conference, according to Nichols.
