Elderly Brownwood man arrested for history of committing child sex crimes
BROWNWOOD, Texas —
An 86-year-old Brownwood man is out of jail after he was arrested for reportedly sexually molesting children for years, including two adults who have come forward to say that they had been victimized by him as kids.
Jacky Croker of Brownwood was booked into the Brown County Jail on Thursday for indecency with a child, according to jail records.
An arrest warrant was issued for Croker last month out of Stephens County because of the alleged crimes that happened when he lived in Breckenridge.
The warrant obtained by KTXS News stated that the Breckenridge Police Department was contacted by Child Protective Services last year about a 13-year-old girl wanting to commit suicide and “cutting herself with a razor blade."
According to court documents, the victim told law enforcement that she had been sexually molested by Croker for more than two years, which started when she was in the 3rd or 4th grade.
The victim described to law enforcement in detail how Croker would sexually molest her and in one instance, the girl said that she fell asleep after helping her little sister do homework and woke up to find Croker inappropriately touching her.
Croker also tried to molest the victim's little sister, according to court documents.
The victim told law enforcement that she had been interviewed by CPS investigators in 2016 for a report of sexual abuse, but "had been too scared to tell the truth and had told the CPS investigator that nothing had happened."
During the investigation, two adults also came forward to the Breckenridge Police Department claiming that Croker had sexually abused them when they were children, according to court documents.
One of the adult victims said that Croker continuously sexually abused her from “5 until the time she was 15."
Although Croker bonded out of jail, court records showed that the terms of his release indicate that he is forbidden from contacting the victim or any other children under the age of 18.
