Mother's boyfriend charged with critically injuring Brownwood infant

    The boyfriend of a Brownwood woman is accused of critically injuring an infant.

    Evan Travis Williford, 21, is charged with injury to a child.

    About 6 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to an apartment in the 300 block of Bluffview Drive for a medical emergency involving a child.

    A 7-month-old boy was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center and later flown to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.

    He remains listed in critical condition.

    Details of how the baby was injured have not been released.

    Williford was initially charged with possession of marijuana in a drug free zone.
