ABILENE, Texas — A Merkel woman was indicted Thursday on intoxicated assault charges after crashing her vehicle and allegedly driving with a BAC four times the legal limit.
According to a press release, Alexis Escobar was driving a 2001 Ford Focus when she crashed into a work truck, wedging the vehicle underneath.
Her passenger, Jodi Falcon, was trapped in the vehicle and firefighter had to remove her. There was significant damages to her legs, and she was missing a toe. Falcon was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Further investigation revealed that Escobar had approximately 12 beers and several shots before driving. Her blood alcohol content was 0.291.
