1 person killed in RV fire in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas — One person was killed in an RV fire in Abilene.

Around 4:50 a.m., the Abilene Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the Lake Breeze Trailer Park located at 902 ES 11th Street.

They found an Recreational Vehicle with heavy smoke and flames coming from the windows and roof.

"An interior fire attack was made when crews found a victim inside the RV," said the fire department in a news release.

Firefighters removed the man and began life saving measures.

"Despite all efforts, the victim passed away while on scene," said the fire department.

His identity is being withheld until next of kin is notified.

The RV is a total loss.
