ICU beds at Hendrick Health in Abilene, Brownwood full, 80-percent have COVID-19

ABILENE, Texas — There are no ICU beds open at Hendrick Health Systems -- including both facilities in Abilene and the one in Brownwood -- and 80-percent of the patients in the ICU tested positive for COVID-19.

A total of 83 people are hospitalized for COVID-19, with 33 of those in the ICU.

• Abilene – 71 (23 in the ICU)
  
• Brownwood – 12 (6 in the ICU)

On Saturday, the Abilene-Taylor County Health District reported 194 new cases.

That is the second highest one-day total on record.

The number of active cases is 2,149.
