Abilene woman whipped child with phone charger cord, sentenced to 6 years in prison

An Abilene woman was sentenced to six years in prison for whipping a child with a cell phone charger cord.

Dominique Green, 31, was sentenced on Friday after pleading guilty to injury of a child in April.

Abilene police reported that on August 31, 2016 a child went to school with “welts” on the arms and back.

The child was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center and stated that Green whipped him with a phone charger cord.

A detective reportedly noticed the “various welts” on the child’s back and arms along with some scabs and older scars.

Green told police that she was the only person who disciplined the child and that she “only used a belt.”
