One person was killed and another injured in a wrong way crash in Mitchell County.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a 2012 Frieghtliner truck towing a trailer was headed west on I-20.

On Wednesday at 10:40 a.m., the truck went through the median, through the cable system and into the eastbound lanes and crashed into a 2016 Buick Verano, 9 miles east of Colorado City.

Following the collision, the big rig went into the barrow ditch and rolled over, ejecting the driver. Officials say a defective front tire on the trailer may have contributed the crash.

The driver, 63-year-old Humberto Ramirez Molina of Whittier CA, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The body was taken to Kiker-Seal Funeral Home in Colorado City.

The other driver, 40-year-old Shadyne Santrice Pittman of Hattisburg MS, was transported by air to United Medical Center with serious injuries.
