Brownwood teen sentenced to 12 years in prison for burglaries and gun thefts
BROWNWOOD, Texas —
A 17-year-old boy from Brownwood was sentenced to 12 years in prison last week for multiple charges related to burglarizing people’s homes and cars and stealing guns.
Tommy Dale Holland III, 17, of Brownwood, plead guilty last week to four separate counts of engaging in organized criminal activity, according to the 35th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
Those four charges carry a 12-year prison sentence, which Holland will serve at a prison in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Holland and two other teenagers reportedly went on a crime spree from December of 2017 to this past January, burglarizing several vehicles, according to records.
Holland also plead guilty to tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Furthermore, Holland also plead guilty to six separate charges of theft of firearms and received a two-year prison sentence.
Holland's sentences are concurrent, which means that they will all be served at the same time.
Holland was first arrested in October of 2016 when he was 16 years old.
Some of the guns that Holland reportedly stole in 2016 were assault rifles, including an AK-47 and an AR-15.
