Brownwood thrift store says it is frustrated by thefts of donations that go to the needy

A Brownwood thrift store is reporting that it is having serious issues dealing with porch pirates.

The owner of the Bringing Hope Thrift Store, which is located on the 700 block of West Commerce Street in Brownwood, told KTXS News that some donations that are left out in front of the store are getting stolen.

In a Facebook post, the store wrote on Saturday that a theft happened last week and that the management of the store knows the identity of the alleged thief.

The owner of the store told KTXS News that until she finds a way to prevent such thefts from taking place, she is asking people to drop off their donations when the store is open.

The Bringing Hope Thrift Store is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the store being closed from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
