Child, 8, killed in hit-and-run crash during family gathering

FORT WORTH, Texas — An 8-year-old boy was killed when he was run over by a car while at a family gathering in Fort Worth.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the little boy was with family at a home on Comanche Street on the Southeast Side of Fort Worth on Tuesday night.

Investigators believe the child was in the street when he was hit by a car. The driver took off and has not been found.

The boy was taken to a hospital where he died just before 11 p.m.
