City of San Angelo opens warming shelter, volunteers needed

The city of San Angelo has opened a warming shelter in light of the recent cold temps.

The Carl Ray Johnson Recreation Center on 1103 Farr Street will be open from 6pm to 9am every night starting Tuesday, Jan. 24, through Thursday, Jan. 26.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering can do so by clicking here. The American Red Cross will provide cots.

Animals are allowed in the shelter but must not be aggressive or disruptive.
