The updated policy no longer separates girls and boys.
All students will now follow the same policies.
Trevor Wilkinson -- an openly gay student at Clyde High School -- was placed on in-school suspension on Nov. 30 because he showed up to school wearing fingernail polish.
The school district's student handbook said male students are prohibited from wearing make-up and nail polish.

"It is with great honor that I am pleased to announce that Clyde High School’s dress code is officially gender neutral forever," Wilkinson told KTXS.
"I’m at a loss of words for the joy I am feeling on this special day. I am so blessed by the support, love, and help I have received through this experience."
