SAN JACINTO, Texas — A former Taylor County corrections officer was killed in an on-duty crash in southeast Texas.
The Texas Sheriff's Association said Bryan Pfluger -- who is currently a deputy in San Jacinto County -- was answering a call when he collided with another deputy in Coldspring.
Sheriff Greg Capers told Bluebonnet News that Pfluger was ejected and thrown around 50 feet when his vehicle rolled.
Pfluger leaves behind a wife and new baby, according to the Texas Sheriff's Association.
The Taylor County Sheriff's Office said "our thoughts and prayers go out to (his) family and friends."
