Man in Brown County Jail for reportedly abusing 2 young children & fiancé
EARLY, Texas —
A Brownwood man was arrested by police Friday for allegedly causing cuts and bruises to two small children and repeatedly smashing his fiancé’s head against a wall.
Ricky James Delarosa, 37, was charged with injury to a child and assault family violence-occlusion, according to documents obtained by KTXS from the Brown County Justice of the Peace's Office.
According to the court documents, the Early Police Department was contacted on May 8 by Child Protective Services for injuries on both a 2-year-old and 3-year-old boy.
Police discovered on May 11 that the boys had bruising and cuts to their "abdomen, back, legs, neck, and face."
Delarosa backhanded his fiancé’s two sons causing bleeding and swelling to their lips, court documents show. One of the kids still had a bruised right eye.
Delarosa apparently became so violent with one of the boys that “he left bruising and scratch[es] on the buttocks of the child.”
Delarosa’s fiancé also told police he grabbed her "by her hair and repeatedly smashed her head into the wall causing bruises and swelling."
During the assault, which lasted for approximately 30 minutes, he grabbed her throat with his hand and pressed her against the wall until she nearly "became light headed," according to court records.
She told Early's police detective "she felt like she was going to die because the assault carried on for so long."
Delarosa remains in the Brown County Jail on bonds totaling $100,000, according to records.
