Missing Mills County woman found inside of pickup truck in Brown County
BROWNWOOD, Texas — Family members of Susan Smith confirmed to KTXS on Thursday that a pickup truck was pulled out of the water with the 59-year-old resident of Mills County inside of the vehicle.
On Thursday, the Brown County Office of Emergency Management said that they had found the pickup truck that was swept away on May 12 on County Road 257 at 10-Mile Crossing in Brown County.
Three people were inside of the pickup truck when it got trapped in floodwaters, including Smith, who had been missing since the pickup truck got swept away.
It had been almost three weeks since the 2006 Nissan Frontier pickup truck was carried away after Smith's daughter tried to drive through floodwaters.
Attempts to recover the pickup truck were put on hold last week because of heavy rain, but the recovery operation resumed on Tuesday.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to pay for Smith's funeral.
